As of the new year, the creamery has decided to boost their sustainability and is testing a new container created by Ecologic Brands. The container is made up of two parts. First, the outer shell is a rigid, molded fiber bottle, made from old corrugated cardboard that is reusable and compostable or biodegradable if thrown away. The inner milk pouch is LDPE recyclable with #4 plastic, resealable and uses up to 70% less plastic than other milk jugs. Plus, in all reducing the weight for shipping and to help reduce emissions. The compostable bottle has just finished testing in select Whole Foods stores in Northern California and I'm excited to hear the verdict. If you tried the product please share your thoughts. I'm very interested to know how this handles at home, if the handle has a good grip or if the pouch needs to be taken out to retrieve the last drops, etc.
